Worlds 2026 daily update, 31 October: LOS knock out Team Liquid and Hanwha Life end G2's run

LOS beat Team Liquid Alienware 2–1 and Hanwha Life Esports swept G2 Esports to stay alive at Worlds 2026. Tonight is the last day of the Swiss Stage, with three series for the final three quarter-final places. Times in UK time and other major zones. As of 31 October.

As of 31 October 2026. Two more teams are out of Worlds. On Friday night in Allen, Texas, LOS beat Team Liquid Alienware 2–1 in one of the longest series of the tournament, and Hanwha Life Esports swept G2 Esports 2–0. That leaves six teams on 2–2, and tonight’s three series decide the last three places in the quarter-finals. Tonight’s results aren’t in yet, so they’ll be in tomorrow’s update.

Last night’s results (Friday 30 October)

Match Result What it means
Team Liquid Alienware vs LOS LOS win 2–1 LOS move to 2–2, Team Liquid eliminated at 1–3
G2 Esports vs Hanwha Life Esports Hanwha Life win 2–0 HLE move to 2–2, G2 eliminated at 1–3

LOS 2–1 Team Liquid Alienware. The Brazilian champions controlled game one from start to finish, with their jungler Curse having a huge game on Trundle. Team Liquid hit back in game two, a back-and-forth game that their late-game team composition eventually won. The decider ran past 47 minutes. LOS were ahead for most of it but struggled to finish, before their top laner Zest, on Tristana in the top lane, helped close it out. It’s North America’s first seed going home, and the second North American team LOS have knocked out this year after Cloud9 in the Play-Ins.

Hanwha Life Esports 2–0 G2 Esports. This one was over quickly, with the two games lasting barely 54 minutes combined. Hanwha Life’s top laner Zeus starred on K’Sante in game one and Ambessa in game two. G2 came into Worlds as one of the most fancied teams from the West, so going out at 1–3 in the Swiss Stage is a big disappointment for Europe’s top seed.

Tonight’s matches (Saturday 31 October)

Every series is best of three, with Fearless Draft. The winner reaches the quarter-finals and the loser goes home.

The later series often start a little early once the one before finishes, so it’s worth tuning in before the listed time. North America’s clocks go back on Sunday 1 November, so from next week the UK will be five hours ahead of US East Coast time again.

Movistar KOI vs Karmine Corp. An all-LEC decider, so Europe is guaranteed one quarter-finalist. The two teams met in the losers’ final at the LEC’s roadshow event in Nice earlier this year, and this is the biggest meeting of that rivalry yet. KOI lost their first chance to qualify against T1, while KC stayed alive by sweeping CTBC Flying Oyster.

LOS vs LYON. LOS have never reached the knockout stage of Worlds, and they started this Swiss Stage 0–2. LYON, the LCS’s second seed, lost to Invictus Gaming in Round 4, and LOS beat them at the Esports World Cup earlier this year. One team from the Americas will be in the last eight.

Hanwha Life Esports vs Bilibili Gaming. A rematch of this year’s MSI final to close the Swiss Stage. Hanwha Life’s ADC Viper faces his former team, and if BLG win, the LCK loses one of its four teams before the quarter-finals.

The standings after Friday

Record Teams
3–0 (qualified) Dplus KIA, Gen.G
3–1 (qualified) T1, Invictus Gaming, Top Esports
2–2 Movistar KOI, Karmine Corp, LOS, LYON, Hanwha Life Esports, Bilibili Gaming
Eliminated CTBC Flying Oyster, G2 Esports, Team Liquid Alienware (all 1–3), Anyone’s Legend, Team Secret Whales (both 0–3)

The quarter-final draw follows tonight’s matches. The quarter-finals run from 3 to 6 November and the semi-finals on 7 and 8 November, both in Allen, before the final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday 14 November.
