Worlds 2026 daily update, 29 October: T1 and Invictus Gaming reach the quarter-finals

As of 29 October 2026. Two more teams are through to the Worlds quarter-finals. T1 swept Movistar KOI 2–0 and Invictus Gaming beat LYON 2–1 on Wednesday night in Allen, Texas, joining Gen.G and Dplus KIA in the last eight. KOI and LYON drop to 2–2 and get one more chance on Saturday. Tonight’s two series haven’t been played yet, so their results aren’t in this update.

Last night’s results (Wednesday 28 October)

Match	Result	What it means
Movistar KOI vs T1	T1 win 2–0	T1 qualify at 3–1, KOI fall to 2–2
LYON vs Invictus Gaming	Invictus Gaming win 2–1	IG qualify at 3–1, LYON fall to 2–2

T1 2–0 Movistar KOI. The defending champions left no room for an upset. KOI drew first blood in game one, but T1 took over in a game that ran close to 40 minutes, with Doran’s Ambessa catching Supa out in a key fight around the Dragon. Game two was much quicker. Keria’s Karma roamed to mid for first blood, Oner stole a Dragon on Jarvan IV, and T1 built a gold lead of more than 10,000 before closing it out in under 26 minutes.

Invictus Gaming 2–1 LYON. This one went the distance. IG controlled game one through Rookie in mid and JiaQi in the bottom lane. LYON hit back in game two, picking off Rookie at a key moment and closing out a slow, careful game. The decider went IG’s way, with LYON’s draft struggling against long-range poke. IG are the first LPL team into the quarter-finals this year, after the region lost all four of its matches on the opening day.
