Stocking fillers for binge-watchers: small, budget-friendly ideas for TV and anime fans
Pocket-money stocking fillers that make a TV or anime fan's sofa nights better: snacks, comfort bits, small tech helpers and fan merch.
A stocking is the one place where small gifts win. For someone whose favourite evenings involve a sofa, a blanket and “just one more episode”, the best stocking fillers aren’t big presents shrunk down. They’re the little things that make binge nights better. Everything here is a small, pocket-money-sized idea: we don’t list prices, but the guides we link to are kept up to date.
Disclosure: this guide links to our sister site What2Buy, a UK guide site that earns from some retailer links (its picks are for UK shoppers, so if you live elsewhere, use them for ideas and buy locally), and to Nightfandom on Etsy, a fan-merch shop run by the same person as Binge Bulletin. Full disclosure.
How this differs from our other gift guides: our Secret Santa ideas are for gamers and anime fans you might not know well, and our budget anime fan gifts are proper presents. This one is all about small stocking-sized extras for people who love watching TV and anime.
Binge-night snacks
The easiest stocking filler of all. Some ideas:
- Popcorn kernels and a seasoning or two. Much more of an occasion than a bag of ready-made.
- Snacks from the country their favourite show is set in. Japanese sweets for an anime fan, a regional treat for someone obsessed with a particular drama. Many supermarkets and specialist shops stock imported snacks.
- Fancy hot chocolate or tea sachets. Small, light and they fit in any stocking.
Check for allergies, and if you’re posting the stocking abroad, check what can be sent.
Sofa comfort
- Fluffy or grip socks. A stocking classic for a reason.
- A small hot-water bottle or a microwavable heat pack. Perfect for the northern-hemisphere winter.
- A sleep mask or a pair of earplugs, for the housemate who goes to bed while someone else is “just finishing the season”.
Small tech helpers
- A phone or tablet stand, for watching in bed or following a recipe during the opening credits.
- A spare charging cable, ideally a long one that reaches the sofa.
- A screen-cleaning cloth. Cheap, useful and always appreciated.
What2Buy’s stocking fillers for adults and stocking fillers for teenage boys have more small gadget ideas, and its Secret Santa gifts under £10 list works just as well for stockings.
Fan merch that fits in a stocking
Stickers, pins, keyrings and small prints are made for stockings. Choose a series they’re watching now, not the one they loved three years ago; if you’re unsure, a design that hints at the fandom rather than shouting it tends to land better. Our own shop, Nightfandom on Etsy, sells fan merch, so have a look at the listings and dispatch times there, especially if you’re ordering from abroad. Small makers are busy in December, so order early.
Free (or nearly free) extras
- A handwritten watchlist: five shows you think they’ll love, on a card. Our Fall 2026 anime watchlist and November premieres guide are good places to start.
- A “watch party” voucher: you supply the snacks, they pick the show.
- A sticky-note “no spoilers” sign for the living-room door. Silly, but it’ll get a laugh.
