Cosy Corner

Cosy games coming to Switch and PC this winter: 6 dates worth knowing

Mice on a magical quest, a Moomin flood, a bear-run honey farm and more – the cosy games heading to Switch, Switch 2 and PC between November and December 2026, with every date checked.

Winter is cosy-game season wherever you are. In the northern hemisphere it’s dark by late afternoon and the sofa is calling; in the southern hemisphere it’s summer holidays and long, lazy afternoons. Either way, there’s a run of gentle, low-stakes games arriving on Switch, Switch 2 and PC over the next couple of months.

Every date and platform below was checked against the publisher’s announcement or the store page on 13 October 2026. Unless we say otherwise, dates are worldwide – but digital launches tend to unlock at slightly different local times, and dates do slip, so check the store page before you clear your evening. Anything we couldn’t confirm is marked TBC.

November

1. Loftia – 3 November

Platforms: PC and Mac (Steam). Switch version: TBC

A cosy multiplayer life-sim about building towards a brighter, more sustainable future: farm, craft, explore and decorate, solo or with friends. The Steam page confirms 3 November for PC and Mac; a Switch release has been mentioned in some listings, but we couldn’t find an official date, so treat that as TBC for now. With a huge number of wishlists behind it, it’s likely to be one of the most-talked-about cosy launches of the season.

2. Bottled by Bears – 11 November

Platform: PC and Mac (Steam)

A cosy idle management game about helping a family of bears run their honey farm. Idle games are perfect for winter evenings: set things going, make a cup of tea, come back to find your bears have been busy. There’s a free demo on Steam now, and the game is taking part in Steam Next Fest (19–26 October), so you can try before you wishlist.

3. Moomin: Midsummer Madness – 12 November

Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Inspired by Tove Jansson’s 1954 novel, this hand-painted point-and-click adventure sees Moominvalley flooded and Moomintroll and Little My adrift aboard a mysterious floating theatre. The publisher says it takes about four to six hours to finish, which makes it ideal for a weekend. The announced price is around $20 / €20 (roughly £17 – local prices vary).

December

4. Hela: of Mice & Magic – 1 December

Platforms: Switch 2, PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S

See the world through the eyes of a brave little mouse in a 3D co-op adventure with landscapes inspired by northern Sweden. It’s open-world, but in the gentlest possible way – and the co-op makes it a lovely pick for couples or siblings over the holidays. A physical “Harmony Edition” is coming to Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series X; the Series S and PC versions are digital only.

5. Muri: Wildwoods – 7 December

Platform: PC (Steam)

A colourful 3D platformer about cleaning. You play Pelle, a little cleaner tasked with restoring an island by scrubbing away corruption and befriending cute creatures. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a grubby world sparkle again. Console versions: TBC.

6. And a Switch bonus to keep an eye on

Plenty of small cosy titles land on the Switch eShop with little warning, so it’s worth browsing the store’s “coming soon” section every couple of weeks. We’ll round up anything notable in our weekly what to watch, play and stream column.

Out now: autumn catch-up

If you’d rather play something today, our cosy games for autumn list covers October’s arrivals, including The Witch’s Bakery and Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea – both on Switch and PC. And for multiplayer evenings, see our co-op games for winter nights.

Regional notes

  • Release times: Steam games usually unlock at the same moment worldwide, which can mean an evening launch in Europe and a morning one in the Americas – or the next day in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Switch eShop: Nintendo’s regional stores sometimes list slightly different dates for the same game. If a date looks off, check the store for your own region.
  • Prices: we’ve only quoted a price where the publisher announced one. Expect local pricing to vary, and look out for launch discounts.

Getting comfy

A cosy game is only half the job – the setting does the rest. Our guide to building a cosy gaming corner has ideas for lighting, seating and a decent headset. If you’re playing on Switch 2, What2Buy (a UK buying-guide site) has a round-up of Switch 2 accessories under £20 – prices are in pounds, so readers elsewhere should check local retailers. And if you’re after something fandom-flavoured for your shelf or a friend, take a look at the Nightfandom shop on Etsy.

How we picked

As ever, a cosy game has to pass three tests: you can put the controller down mid-task without anything bad happening; you can play with half your attention on a podcast; and you feel a little better at the end of a session. Everything here passes – and we’ll update the list as more winter dates are confirmed.
